This chassis is designed by Losi drivers for Losi drivers. After many many hours of testing, we are finally happy to bring you the first purpose built shaft driven Losi chassis system. We've put this through the wringer and after many prototypes and hours of testing, this is the end result.
This is chassis system has many unique features that will bring that belly dragging Losi into the air that only MOA's have breathed before:
The Shark Fin:
This is our answer to increasing link separation on the axle. With over an inch more separation than stock, this gets those rear uppers up and allows for massive clearance bends in the rear links, with no binding or fuss at all. There are also 7 settings for the rear upper link height, adjusted by moving the supplied threaded stainless steel rod and spacers.
The Overkill Skid:
At 2 inches wide, its much narrower than the stock chassis, and we've thrown some strength elements into it, along with being pre-drilled for Losi transmissions. Most skids attach the lower links with screws, using the same screws as the chassis plate screws. The screw is weak compared to the 7/64” high strength A2 captured pins that hold our lowers on. Team driver ghtpdm5 has personally beaten on a pin mounted in a skid with a 2.5 lb sledgehammer to test the strength with no failure, or even a bend. They fit both revo (recommended) and stock Losi rod ends well.
The Chassis Plates:
Laser cut out of 1/8” delrin, these plates are designed with strength, adjustability, and clearance in mind. The strength is brought on by the carefully designed shape, we went to great lengths to ensure that these are as strong as we can make them. Adjustability is provided by the holes cut into the chassis for the rear and front upper links, long rows of holes to give you the exact suspension tune that you want. The clearance is only limited by the shocks you use, and how much you want to test the Losi driveshafts. With a slope of 3/8” from front to back, you can still run the stock losi geometry in front, while getting every bit of the Shark Fin aided clearance in the rear. We've pushed our personal trucks to 4.75 inches of clearance, but we'll recommend that you limit the shocks to a final ride height of 4 inches to save the driveshafts from the increased wear and tear that you get at extreme clearance. You'll also notice that its easy to work on the truck without having to tear apart the whole thing. You can pull a motor without removing chassis plates, and do quick pinion changes with everything in the truck.
The Dig Servo Mount:
That's right, we even give you a mount to get that pesky dig servo off the top of the transmission! Placed to lower it as much as we can while keeping it out of the way. This mount is designed to work with only the Hitec HS225 and HS225mg, due to the variation in sizes of mini servos, we cannot offer mounts for all of them.
Almost all hardware is provided for you, including brass inserts for the transmission mounting and rear axle (11/64 drill required). These are provided to make sure that there will be no issue with any screw pulling out on you in a fall. You will need 2x 4-40 lock nuts from the losi you have, and 4x screws to attach your dig servo to the mount. That's it, all the rest is provided for you, and all the spacers for the chassis as well.
Yes, there is a topper available as well! Made to meet USRCCA legal minimums, these again come with all the spacers and hardware you'll need.
