Having the proper tools for a job increases the simplicity and efficiency of getting the job done right. When it comes to cutting all the wires to length for wiring up an RC car, many folks go for their hardy pair of diagonal cutters. These are a great tool to have but they don't like to cut the really high strand count wire (wire with really thin strands). They usually cut wire with a blunt edge that "pinches" the wire apart but with high strand count wire, the really thin strands can hide in the most devious spots and avoid being pinched. When it comes to cutting the high strand count wire common in RC cars, flush cutters are a superior tool. They have a very sharp edge that will slice through those little boogers.

Flush cutters are basically a different form of the typical diagonal cutter. The major difference is that they are ground flush on the back side. This is for cutting off soldered leads flush to a circuit board. However, this also creates a nice sharp edge to so "pinching" turns into "slicing" the really thin strands better and the edges mate up pretty good.

Edges are ground very sharp from the factory

Cuts through high strand wire with excellent results

Works well with thicker wires (Up to 12 gauge, maybe higher)

I've used it on other soft materials, such as plastic and snipping off pin heads on RC car tires

A very nice spring back mechanism

Sort of a tactile feeling

Its NOT spongy feeling
